Wet'n'Wild's CoverALL Concealer Stick Review

Please Read: I am not paid by any cosmetic companies to review any of these products. Everything I review is bought by me, and I will always give a %100 honest review.
  • Packaging:  This concealer stick comes in a cheaper, clear plastic tube with a snap on cap. The get the product out you twist the base.
  • Product: Wet'n'Wild is definitely a love/hate cosmetic brand for me, for example, these concealer sticks are both good, and not so good. They don't have very much lasting power, but they go on decently creamy and definitely do "Cover ALL". Warming up the product in your fingers before applying it makes the application a lot smoother.
    • Light/Pale: is light, creamy beige colour.
  • Final Thoughts: These are alright. If you're in a rush and you need to whip by a Wal-Mart or Zellers quickly to cover something up, these are nice to have in your purse. Again, the lasting power isn't the greatest, but I've bought this product twice, so it must be decent, right? Another downside is that Wet'n'Wild only makes a few different shades of these, so theres a lot less range when it comes to these concealers.
  • Availability: $3.69 @ Zellers, Wal-Mart, Pharma Plus

5 Fun Summer Eye Makeup Looks

Summer is the season with no limits when it comes to makeup. Here are five different (and easy) looks I came up with for the Summer season!

1. Black winged eyeliner with a pop of colour on the lower lashline. This is one of my Summer favorites, and it's so simple to achieve. Use any black waterproof liquid liner on your upper lashline (GOSH's Black liquid liner), then apply waterproof mascara (Maybeline's Falsies lashes mascara). Then you want to apply a long lasting eyeliner (like Urban Decay's eye pencil in Clash) to your lower lashline and smudge it out. The great thing about this look is that you can use tons of different colours on the lower lashline. This is a very versatile makeup look, and it looks really cute, too.

2. Neutral golds with a pop of teal. This look is a lot like the first look, only I applied some neutral/soft golds to my eyelid, some false eyelashes, and added some blue eyeliner to my waterline instead of my lower lashline. Read the original tutorial here.

3. Neon orange and purple. This look is awesome for summer! The neon orange really pops, and the purple is sultry and gives the look a little more fun. This look is SO easy to attain, too. I used only two eyeshadows. Read the original post, see more pictures, and the product list here.

4. Peach innuendo / modern pin-up. This look can be rocked by anyone. It's so simple and classy- and very cute. This was actually inspired by Katy Perry and her modern pin-up style. Read the original post, see more pictures, and the product list here.

5. Shimmery sunset using NYX & Sugarpill.  This is one of my favorite looks that I've done for summer. It's cute, and really easy to do! Read the original post, see more pictures, and the product list here.

Bourjois Paris Waterproof Eyeliner in Green Insomniak Review, Swatches

Discover the new Contour Clubbing Waterproof eye pencil, ideal for those ultra-crazy nights out!
The Contour Clubbing Waterproof eye pencil is the perfect finishing touch to a smoky look.
Its waterproof formula is crease-resistant and makes for a perfect adherence of the colour. Its ultra-soft gliding texture enriched with jojoba and cotton oils intensely outlines the lash line.
  • Packaging:  These pencils come in regular eye pencil tubes. They're a bit more durable than normal pencils. They're also colour-coordinated to their shades.
  • Product: These are amazingly long-lasting and YES- waterproof! I wore the colour for 12 hours and it's still there, a little faded, but still there. These pencils really are perfect for long nights out.
    • Green Insomniak: is a dark, shimmery forest green that reflects a lighter green. This shade looks awesome smudged, and under other green shades.
  • Final Thoughts: I wish they carried more than just 5 shades! These pencils are the perfect long-lasting waterproof ones I've bought. They're a decent price, and it really is worth the money. I'll definitely buy this again. Im excited to try new shades out.
  • Availability: $17.00 Bourjois Paris, Shoppers Drug Mart

Wet'n'Wild's Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil in Techno: Review, Pictures & Swatches

Soft-blending, creamy eyeshadow at the convenience of a pencil. Silky-smooth formula glides on easily for high-impact, light-infused color that lasts for hours!
  • Packaging:  These pencils come in stubby and thick tubes. They're very similar to NYX Cosmetic's Jumbo Eye Pencils (see pictures). There's nothing really special about the packaging, it seems like it could break though if dropped. It's definitely cheaper.
  • Product: I honestly was pretty excited when I saw these pencils. I wanted to give them a try, since Wet'n'Wild was really impressing me with their eyeshadow trios. When I first swatched the pencil on my arm, I was completely shocked at how intensely creamy, and almost oily feeling, these pencils really were. They glide on like nothing! Yep- I got excited, and decided to test it on my eye. First, I applied it all over my lid and blended it outwards from my crease. I left it on for 10 minutes exactly, checked it out, and it creased horribly (see picture 4). Completely unimpressed, I wanted to make this pretty shade work. I decided to give it another chance, and applied a primer as a base before applying it again, and then left it for another 10 minutes. This time, there was basically no creasing. Although the colour drastically faded.
    • 133 Techno: is a lavender, almost jewel-toned purple.
  • Final Thoughts: Im not happy with this product. Wet'n'Wild promises "high impact, light infused colour that lasts for hours". LIES!!! I really tried to give this product a chance, but it just can't be worked with, sorry. I wouldnt buy this again, and I WOULDN'T recommend it at all.
  • Availability: $2.99 Wet'n'Wild, Loblaws Superstore, Wal-Mart

Kerli / Bubble Goth Inspired Look

I finally did a Kerli look! I pulled most of my inspiration for this look through her Tea Party video. I added tons of glitter, too. :) This look is almost mermaid-y. I'm normally hesitant to heavily line my lower lashline with  eyeliner, but for some reason I think it worked well to shape this look. Enjoy!

The Definition of Vegan & Great Vegan Makeup Brands

Jaguar Lip Art by Viridis-Somnio
I was recently asked by a friend "What does 'vegan makeup' mean?". I actually had to think about it, even though I know what it means. The true, basic, and straightforward definition is: "Veganism is the practice of eliminating the use by human beings of non-human animal products". Now, onto the origins... The term vegan was coined by Donald Watson (England), who founded the British Vegan Society in 1944. In 1960, H. Jay Dinshah started the American Vegan Society. In 2009 one percent of Americans said they were vegan, and in 2007 two percent self-identified as vegan in the UK. According to the Oxford Companion to American Food and Drink (2007), in certain endurance sports, the top athletes are vegans who also eat much of their food uncooked.

"We can see quite plainly that our present civilisation is built on the exploitation of animals, just as past civilisations were built on the exploitation of slaves, and we believe the spiritual destiny of man is such that in time he will view with abhorrence the idea that men once fed on the products of animals' bodies."
Personally, I am not a Vegan. But I definitely believe in cruelty-free products, and animal rights. If you want to learn more- check out the Vegan Society. Here are my favorite Vegan makeup brands!

1. Sugarpill Cosmetics: This brand is not all Vegan, but this is definitely one of my favorites because of the vibrant, and long lasting eyeshadow shades for reasonable prices.
2. Smashbox: Smashbox is actually a great quality makeup brand, and they're completely Vegan!
3. Urban Decay: Again, Urban Decay is not all Vegan, but they do have some awesome products.
4. Mac Cosmetics: Another great and well-known brand, MAC does have some Vegan products.

I hope this post was helpful to some people! :)

Tie Dye / Hippie Inspired Nails

Well, nail, really, not nailS. :P I was playing around with my new nail wheel and came up with this trippy sort of twisty design.

Las Vegas Inspired Nail Design

I'll update the product list later! :) I did these nails using a couple rhinestones, gold glitter, shimmery reds, and sparkly blacks. It really reminded me of Las Vegas / Casino stuff. Enjoy!

Billie Cosmetic's Neon Pink, Orange, Green & Purple Review

Here is a Dollar store review for nail polish.
  • Packaging:  These nail polishes come in general glass packaging with silver caps. The applicator brush is also nothing special.
  • Product: These colours are definitely bright; but definitely cheap. They don't have good lasting power at all. Even with a top coat they don't last ever long. The colours are honestly brilliant. They basically GLOW with flash. Definitely "rave approved".
    • Neon Pink: is a bright, neon magenta colour. Two coats is needed for full coverage.
    • Neon Orange: is a neon, construction-tape orange colour. Two or three coats would be best for good coverage.
    • Neon Green: is a bright neon lime green colour. One or two coats is good for full coverage.
    • Neon Purple: is a bright neon purple colour. One or two coats is good for full coverage.
  • Final Thoughts: I know these are cheap, dollar store nail polishes. Normally, I wouldn't look twice at them. But honestly the colours really caught my eye. I really wish they had better lasting power!
  • Availability: $1.00, Billie Cosmetics, Dollarama
