Smashbox Layer Lash Primer Review, Pictures

Please Read: I am not paid by any cosmetic companies to review any of these products. Everything I review is bought by me, and I will always give a %100 honest review.
  • Packaging: This lash primer comes in a clear tube with a black cap. The packaging is super sleek and is very durable.
  • Product: The Layer Lash Primer is described as "Pump up the volume with our best-selling lash primer that’s packed full of conditioning and strengthening panthenol. For unbelievable longer, thicker and healthier lashes, apply LAYER LASH PRIMER and immediately follow with mascara." This primer definitely conditions the lashes, and makes them feel soft. I think that after applying the primer, then applying a mascara, my lashes looked ticker and longer. I also think it made my mascara last longer on my lashes, which was great.
  • Final Thoughts: This is a great product to have, but I don't think it's necessary for everyone to have one. Because of the price, I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but if you can afford it, definitely try this product out! Smashbox are the KINGS of primers!!

Urban Decay Primer Potion VS Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I've always wanted to do an experiment with these two Primers, so this experiment is done over the course of four hours.

The first difference I noticed is that Urban Decay's Primer Potion has more ingredients. The weight of Too Faced Shadow Insurance is 11 g/ 0.35 Oz, and Urban Decay's weight is 10ml e 0.34 US fl. oz. The formula for Too Faced Shadow Insurance is a lot runnier than Urban Decay's (and you have to shake up Too Faced Shadow Insurance). Urban Decay's Primer Potion is almost a mousse.

10:40 AM, I've applied both Primers on my arm, let them set for 10 minutes, then applied Make Up Forever's Neon Pink eyeshadow.

12:40 PM, 2 hours later, both shadows are still looking well pigmented and silky. The only difference I can tell so far is that Urban Decay's Primer Potion is looking a little chalky near the bottom of the swatch.

2:40 PM, 4 hours after application, at this point both of the shadows are still looking very similar. The only main difference that I can see is that Urban Decay's Primer Potion chalked a bit near the bottom of the swatch, and the swatch with Too Faced Shadow Insurance seems to have a little more colour intensity.

All in all, I am very undecided about choosing between these two primers. I'll definitely be doing a longer more in-depth review and experiment soon.
